At least 60 species of birds are found at Turneffe during the height of the migratory season, including 18 species of nesting birds. The large expanses of intact mangrove and sea grass habitat and shallows serve as a huge nursery area for a wide array of fish species, crocodiles, manatees, dolphins and invertebrates. In addition to rich nursery areas, Turneffe has at least three known important fish spawning aggregation sites.
Blackbird Caye Eco-Dive Resort
Located on a private island on one of Belize’s outer atolls, Blackbird Caye Eco-Dive Resort overlooks an iridescent turquoise coral lagoon, protected by the atoll’s rim reef. This long established resort acclaimed for snorkeling and scuba diving, recently added an array of eco-friendly activities. A marine biologist from the nearby Oceanic Society Field Station presents a weekly lecture and is available to answer questions you may have about the underwater world.
Nestled within 1,300 acres of island forest on a private white sand beach, the resort is comprised of 18 individual beachfront cabanas offering a personal, private and relaxing atmosphere.
Amenties: All private air-conditioned cabanas offer a porch and swinging hammock cooled by natural trade winds, facing the eastern Caribbean Sea. Each individual cabana has ceiling fans, one or two beds, nightstands and closet area.The baths are modern and equipped with hot showers. Triplex with adjoining bedrooms and shared porch are perfect for families. Now with free WiFi internet access in rooms!
The Triplex: Features a huge shared front porch facing the Caribbean Sea. Each of the private rooms is air conditioned and has a private bath and two double beds. These units are perfect for families.
Standard Cabanas: Each, air-conditioned cabana offers, one or two double beds, ceiling fans, nightstand, closet area and private bath with shower.
Deluxe Cabanas: The newly-constructed deluxe cabanas are more spacious than the standard units. Each suite has a separate bedroom with king beds, ceiling fan, CD player, and air-conditioning unit, and private bath with shower. The living room has chairs, love seat and table as well as mini-refrigerator, making it great for entertaining or relaxing.
Superior Cabanas: Offer a large private room with large sitting area, air-conditioning, private bath with shower, CD player's, mini frig., coffee pots and 2 queen or 1 king bed.
All packages include transfer to the island (Sat & Wed only), accommodation, meals and activities.
Dives & snorkel trips to the Blue Hole, Half Moon Caye and Long Caye Wall is scheduled on Tuesdays.

DIVE/SNORKELl COMBO PACKAGE includes four days of diving and two days snorkeling.
Single supplement is an additional 30% of package rates.
Children 6 & under are free, 7-11 half price when sharing a room with parents.
Children 12 & older are full price.

Package prices do not include international airfare, dive/snorkel equipment rental, US$40 marine reserve fee per person for trip to the Blue Hole, hotel tax of US$4.50 per person, per night, bar drinks, and gratuities. These are payable at the resort and collected the day before departure.

Please note:
Transfers to/from the resort are on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Belize City. You must arrive to Belize City by 3pm on the day of your arrival in order to make the transfer to the island. On your departure day, you may arrange your flight from Belize City anytime after 12:30pm. Transfers to the island are typically between 3:30pm - 4:00pm by plane or boat. Mode of transport will be decided the afternoon prior to your arrival day: our representatives will take you to the appropriate location for your transfer to the resort. If you arrive early in the day, you will be taken to the Radisson Fort George where you can store your bags, relax, have some lunch or explore Belize City.
