Turneffe Island Resort is situated on Little Caye Bokel, a 14 acre private Island located 35 miles from the cost of Belize City on the South end of Turneffe Atoll. This pristine area is part of the 200 mile long Belizean coral reef formation, the longest reef system in the western hemisphere. The Island is surrounded by one of the most fertile marine eco-system in the world. It is home to millions of bait fish, crabs, shrimp and other small aquatics, serving as the first link in the undersea food chain that supports the abundant marine life in the Caribbean . The flats area around the resorts boast an abundance of Bone Fish, Tarpon and Permit for the Grand Slam seekers.

Spectacular snorkeling and diving trips are located less than 5 minutes away. On Tuesdays you are whisked away for a great day trip to Belize's Lighthouse Reef and the Great Blue Hole. For all non-divers and tired divers there are multiple opportunities to snorkel on this particular part of the Turneffe Island Resort experience. Snorkel sites include the outer shallows of the Great Blue Hole, Lighthouse Reef and Half Moon Caye as well as a great site on the way back to Turneffe Island called the Aquarium.

When you are not fishing, diving or snorkeling, you can enjoy any of the other activities offered such as volleyball, kayaking or sailing on the Hobie Kat. Take advantage of the fresh water heated swimming pool or relax with a cocktail at one of two bars. Pick a private and scenic spot to relax and enjoy your private island experience.

The cabanas are located on the southeastern side of the island and offers you more privacy from the main area of the Resort. These 8 unique free standing luxurious accommodations offer a variety of extras such as wrap around porches, canopy style beds, large sitting areas and a breath taking view of the Caribbean Sea . All are tucked in between local vegetation and native trees. Either one king bed or a queen / full bed are in each room, a set of stuffed wicker chairs and a coffee table with a reading lamp. Each room has a mini bar/refrigerator, magnifying mirror, hair dyer and local art trims out the room for your comfort. Take your pick from an indoor spacious shower or larger outdoor private shower. Patio has two reclining teak cushioned lounge chairs with a shared table. The patio is also surrounded by a transparent protective screening. Nightly turndown service helps you get ready for a peaceful night's sleep, in one of the new Sealy perfect sleeper beds that accompany your stay.

The Food: You do not want to miss a meal  at Turneffe Island Resort. The "Ladies" make everything from scratch in the kitchen. Meals that you may never forget might include Snapper with Lemon Nut Crust, Coconut Shrimp, Filet of Beef stuffed with Lobster and Asparagus, and the famous Coconut Creme pie made with fresh Coconuts. The menu offers a wide variety of finger licking dishes.
