Turneffe Flats Fly Fishing
Bone fishing has been the mainstay of fishing at the resort for decades with Turneffe Atoll’s miles of crystal clear, wadeable flats. While wading Turneffe’s extensive turtle grass flats, you will sight-fish to large schools of bonefish as well as smaller groups and singles. Bone fishing remains consistently good throughout the year.
Permit Fishing: Increasing numbers of saltwater anglers have developed a serious interest in permit fishing. Turneffe Flats is one of a select group of saltwater destinations where you can regularly experience the excitement of flats fishing for tailing permit. Good permit fishing is available throughout the year.
Tarpon Fishing: Because tarpon are migratory, they are, by nature, seasonal. Although some tarpon are around throughout the year, the prime season generally begins in mid-to-late April and continues to mid-October with June, July and August generally being the best months. Most of the migratory tarpon are in the 70-90 pound range, but a few 150 to 200 pound monsters are caught each year.
Belize Scuba Diving: Turneffe Flats is ideally located to take advantage of Belize’s best diving with three dives per day including a weekly night dive in dive packages. The resort is ideally located to access Lighthouse Reef Atoll and the famous Blue Hole. Weather permitting the weekly dive package includes a trip to Lighthouse Reef to dive the great Blue Hole, Half Moon Wall and Long Caye.

Due to the rich habitat at Turneffe Atoll, a diversified marine ecotourism vacation program has been developed combining world-class snorkeling with several other activities that makes up the Atoll Adventure Package. A wide variety of snorkeling choices are included. Observe manatees and dolphins in their natural habitats or look for more than 60 bird species identified at Turneffe. This unique program is exciting, educational and fun. Learn the fascinating history of the atoll beginning with the Maya, who fished and traded there as far back as 400 A.D., to the Pirates of the Caribbean who used Turneffe as a favored hideout. Join a Belizean cooking class or just relax in a hammock under the coconut palms.
The Atoll Adventure Guides are informative and fun, and the 25 foot boat is at your guides’ disposal for full access to the wonderful marine ecosystem. This is a very flexible and educational package adapted to the desires and abilities of the guests on a day-to-day basis.

All rates are per person based on double occupancy except as noted for the Single Supplement Fishing package. Private room upgrades are available upon request. All guest rooms are charged at the same rate, and all rooms are air-conditioned.

- Bar tab, gratuities, and any equipment rentals
- Marine Reserve Fee of $25 per person
- Additional transfers on days other than Saturday and Wednesdays
- Blue Hole Park Fee of $40 per diver
Deposit & Cancellation Policy: A 25% deposit of the pre-tax package price is required to confirm a reservation, and is due within two weeks of the booking date. Deposits are refundable (minus a $100 handling fee per package) up to 60 days prior to the start of a trip. Within 60 days prior to the start of a trip, the deposit is not refundable for any reason unless the space can be resold. Final payment is due 60 days prior to arrival and is not refundable. No refunds are available for unused portions of packages. Travel insurance is strongly recommend.
